For forty years, the Sathyabama campus has been where engineers, scientists and clinicians at the southern edge of India have gathered to publish, to argue, and to graduate. The Sathyabama Convention Centre is the room this community has been missing — a single building large enough to host the convocation of the whole university at breakfast, an international medical convention at noon, and a concert, open to the city, by nightfall.
Opening in 2026, the Centre makes Chennai a credible host for the convenings our region has been sending overseas: a research society's biennial meeting, a national board exam, a six-city tour's one Indian date. It is engineered for the next forty years — and specified for the kind of event that only comes once.

Each hall is independently serviced — its own stage, dock, HVAC, and front-of-house crew — so a two-day medical convention can run alongside a semester convocation without either audience ever hearing the other.

A keynote room and parallel-track venue. Acoustically isolated to NR 20 — a workshop can run here while a convocation runs next door.

Film premieres, oral examinations, workshops. Dual 4K projection, Dolby Atmos, and a two-hour turnaround to the next show.
2,800 m² · double-height
Registration, exhibition for sixty booths, catering for 2,500 standing. Daylight-washed by day; dimmable to black for the gala.
